Yesterday I announced I am ending the C.R.A.Z.Y Copy System Live Mentoring Show.
Why did I do it?
3 reasons.
Reason #1. Country living! – I finally made the transition to full time country living! My hubby and I now officially live in a small town with a population of 154… in a log cabin on 27 acres of woods filled with deer… coyote… and bears – oh my!
Many mornings I look out of my window staring at the gorgeous North Georgia mountain landscape and I ask myself – do I REALLY live here? I’ve even adopted a new motto: “Your getaway is my every day!”
Reason #2. COVID! – After 2.5 years of dodging this virus – the latest variant finally got me! I honestly blame myself for it. With all the bouncing around from house to cabin – I got lax on my immune-boosting protocol! This is a lesson I have known for over 3 decades: supplements won’t work if you don’t take them!
So 2 weeks ago – I woke up with a bad headache… wicked sore throat… horrific cough… and NO energy. When I tested positive the next day, I isolated myself to my bedroom at the cabin.
This gave me a lot of time to think and appreciate the fact that I can’t take my health for granted. This disease could’ve been a life changer. I’m very thankful that my symptoms are more like the worst flu I’ve ever had – and I didn’t end up on a ventilator!
Reason #3. Carving out my retirement path! – So I can’t believe I’m turning 61 soon! I mean REAL soon! I never see myself as completely retiring from copywriting but I do want more time off than on. I want to learn more about composting… animal husbandry… and small-town living.
I want more time for volunteer work and to get to know my new congregation of really nice folks. Having the C.R.A.Z.Y Copy System Live Mentoring Show forces me to be on a weekly schedule. I don’t want that responsibility anymore.
I’m planning to take on writing projects that I deliver when I’m done – not on a deadline.
So honestly – I could list another 10 reasons why now is a good time for this change. But I think you get my point. It’s just time.
