Clayton’s 1st draft sucks!

I remember reading copy from my mentor – legendary copywriter Clayton Makepeace. I literally got goosebumps and couldn’t put the promo down!
I was in awe of his writing style. And very intimidated.
But Clayton helped me realize that his copy didn’t become stellar overnight. It took draft after draft and more drafts to get there. His first drafts sucked in comparison to the final product!
So what I read was nowhere near the first draft he wrote.
He said, “Don’t compare your first draft with my 16th draft!”
