And I thought I was in good shape
Hiya CopyStar! I just finished my first Lindsay Brin workout and I thought I was going to die. I mean it. This could be my LAST post. R.I.P. And the sad thing is… …I thought I was in decent shape! I mean… … I run a 10K regularly. And I do some form of exercise every day. So – what got me in this near death-state? Well – it started off with a challenge. Daughter #1 has been looking RIPPED lately! I mean really toned…sculpted arms…great abs… perky booty! So I asked her, “What gives?” I mean we’re both runners. But I don’t look anything like that from running. That’s when she told me about “Moms into Fitness”. It’s a strength training workout she adds to her running routine.
And she challenged me to try it for 30 days. I don’t back down on a challenge… … but maybe I should’ve! I agreed and got up Monday morning to do the FIRST workout in Lindsay’s “Balanced Athlete” series. I should’ve known something was up when I started sweating during the warm-up. And by the end of the 28-minute “Functional HIIT” Day One workout – I was drenched. And I couldn’t even do the hard part of the workout! The intensity just kept building…and Building…and BUILDING!
And you know what? I didn’t WANT to stop – even though Lindsay Brin was kicking my butt! The sweating now became a badge of honor. I can do this… … if I don’t die first. When we got to the cool down – I was literally lying in a pool of my own sweat. But I did it!

So – is there a copywriting lesson here for you CopyStar? You better believe it! It’s about INTENSITY. When you build momentum and turn up the heat in your copy… … you get your reader HOOKED. He doesn’t want to stop reading… … She CAN’T stop reading. He wants to see where you’re going to take ‘em. And she wants RESULTS! So – pull out that sales letter you’re working on right now… … and REALLY scrutinize it! Are you warming up your prospect with an appealing proposition? Are you giving your reader proof after proof after proof that what you’re offering is legit? Are you heating up your sales argument with testimonials, research studies and clinical trials that confirm your reader should keep listening to you? Are you intensifying the heat with every paragraph… every sentence… every word? And are you blowing away your reader with an amazing “can’t miss out on” offer that gets him sweating and salivating to reach the phone or order page? If not… … go BACK and rewrite that copy! And remember my Lindsay Brin experience – and turn up the intensity and HEAT in your copy!
