It’s Showcase Saturday

Today’s showcase is CopyStar reader Jean Allord. She shares how she got the inspiration to turn up the HEAT for her writing skills!

Hi CopyStar!

When I first joined AWAI and took several of their classes…

… I sat at my computer several hours a day.  I was listening, studying and writing. And I was growing and glowing and feeling pumped!

But – as the months went by without any clients – I began to do some “butt-dragging”.

I spent less time learning and practicing. Things seemed hopeless – pointless. I felt down and defeated.

In fact – I didn’t want to do much of anything anymore. Until…

… one day I watched the Dr. Oz show. And he asked for a volunteer to help with a demonstration.

He selected a gal in the audience…

…and she exuded enthusiasm! She shrieked! She jumped up and down! She hugged her friend – twice!

When she finally ran down to the stage…

… she hugged Dr. Oz too!

It was then that I realized…

… this “gal” was Carline!

Her engaging and animated nature became clear she had a naturally vibrant personality! But…

… at first… I felt a little envious. I longed to have that kind of positive outlook where I could:

• Lighten up my life!

• Feel motivated!

• Have hope for the future!

• Use my writing gifts!

• And more!   

Interestingly – the Dr. Oz demonstration was about frostbite – the “frozen” tissue issue. And that got me thinking about a powerful lesson in copywriting:

I had become almost “frozen” in my tracks as a writer. So when Dr. Oz demonstrated how rigid and lifeless a frozen foot is – the light bulb went off in my head!

I realized I needed to kick-start my copywriting again! I had to show up! After all – it’s up to me to keep on keeping on…

… to thaw out! Because just like our bodies need heat…

… as a copywriter I needed: Excitement! Action! Power! Spirit! Energy!

And now I feel empowered by Carline’s energy! Why?

Because it’s contagious! And you can get some too!
