How much do I want you to succeed?

I got this GORGEOUS surprise bouquet from Chris A., one of my Copy Cubs – with a card that said:

Carline,

Thanks so much for your help… lessons learned… and a lot of laughs! I learned tons! Here’s to a big winner!

This was Chris’ first big promo launch with me. And I worked her butt off!

She went through numerous rounds of edits and rewrites.
I tore her lead to shreds.

Made her go back and write and rewrite and rewrite her bullets until they were rifle-ready!

I just wanted to choke her several times.

And the feeling was mutual.

But Chris took it in stride. She saw where she went off track.

Listened to my suggestions. Made the changes.

And after working and reworking the copy – it started to SHINE!

And last week – I was comfortable enough to send the copy to my client.

Chris and I celebrated over Zoom!

I told her she just had to stop getting in her own way. She’s a good writer but she kept making dumb mistakes that blocked her success.

I showed her how to get rid of those roadblocks.

And she listened.

So now I can honestly say, “Chris GETS it! She really, really GETS IT!”

Honestly – that was satisfaction enough.

And then she dun gon and sent me this perty bouquet and those kind words.

A few tears shed.

So when folks say I’m crazy to give away my knowledge and skills to help writers improve their copywriting chops.

I think of Chris. And Brad. And John. And Enda. And Betsy. And Cynthia. And so many others who are “getting it” – and creating their copywriting dreams!

And that’s very fulfilling for me.
